A Trauma-Informed Approach for Integrating HIV Primary Care and Behavioral Health

This webinar features an intervention that aims to diagnose mental health issues among people with HIV and reduce stigma associated with accessing mental health care by integrating primary HIV care and behavioral health services to coordinate client diagnoses and treatment. The intervention increases the percentage of clients linked to mental health treatment while remaining in HIV care and virally suppressed. The initiative integrates evidence-based interventions into routine, primary HIV care without adding extensive burden to the clients and clinical team. The intervention is implemented at the individual and system level. Speaker are from Broward County, FL where the intervention was originally developed.
