The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was passed in 2022, and included significant changes to Medicare benefit design and prescription drug access. The following FAQs explain two important provisions of the IRA, both effective as of January 1, 2025: the new Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (MPPP) and the Medicare Part D $2,000 out-of-pocket (OOP) cap.
