AETC ShareSpot: Are Pharmacists Prepped for PrEP?

TargetHIV

What role can pharmacists can play in counseling and helping patients gain access to pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP)?

That question is among handled by the National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC), the HRSA-supported center that provides support to clinicians on a range of HIV care issues. The answer (rather, answers) are relevant to reaching the goal of the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative to reduce new HIV infections. Also in the wings is a federal proposal to greatly expand access to PrEP.

So, what are the answers? See what NCCC has to say about pharmacists, PrEP, and PEP in Are Pharmacists Prepped for PrEP?, the March edition of the AETC blog ShareSpot.

See our prevention topic page for resources on PrEP.
