COVID-19 Workforce Virtual Toolkit

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

A collection of tools to help agencies make decisions in managing COVID-19 has been compiled by HHS. Materials cover, for example, guidance on the flexibility afforded with COVID-19 federal funding (e.g., as outlined by HRSA for Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program entities), state-developed training tools (e.g., tele behavioral health, contact tracing), licensure of health professionals in the emergency setting of COVID-19, and liability protections (e.g., waivers of penalties for alleged HIPAA violations).

The COVID-19 Workforce Virtual Toolkit: Resources for Healthcare Decision-Makers Responding to COVID-19 Workforce Concerns contains tool in these categories:

  • Federal Regulatory and Funding Flexibilities
  • State, Territorial, and Local Resources
  • Workforce Surge Planning and Volunteer Matching
  • Liability Protections
  • Licensure
  • Scope of Practice Expansions
  • Healthcare Workforce Training Resources
  • Workforce Protection Resources
  • Workforce Resilience/Sustainability Resources
  • Pre-Hospital/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Resources
  • Additional Healthcare Planning Resources

These tools are part of a larger collection of preparedness resources within HHS's Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE)
