Data Update: AETC National HIV Workforce Study

TargetHIV

From the AETC NCRC - Dear Colleagues,

We want to provide a brief update on the AETC Program's National HIV Workforce Study.

The survey was successfully promoted, supported and disseminated by our AETC Program partners and HIV healthcare provider national organization colleagues. Data collection is now complete.

  • 1,004 eligible providers completed the survey
  • Respondents represent 93% of the U.S. states and territories
  • Despite diverse gender, racial and ethnic identities, and professional roles, respondents primarily identified as:
    • Female (58%)
    • Physician (61%) with adult ID specialty (41%)
    • Non-Hispanic/Latino (90%), and
    • White (76%)
  • Respondent ages range from 26-82 years with a mean of 49 years and a median of 48 years
  • Within the next 5 years, 10.5% of respondents reported they would no longer being providing HIV patient care.

We are in the midst of doing a complete analysis of the data. Thank you for your support and assistance, and we look forward to sharing the final results later this year.

Sincerely,
AETC National Coordinating Resource Center

We'd like your feedback
