Enrollment in Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program is up slightly, according to data released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the agency that administers the programs at the federal level. Increases are relatively small for Medicare in relation to the number of individuals covered, while growth is more substantial for Medicaid/CHIP. Medicare and Medicaid are important sources of health insurance coverage for people with HIV, including persons who get care from HRSA's Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP). According to the RWHAP Annual Client-Level Data Report, 2020 (page 6): "Approximately 80% of RWHAP clients have some form of health care coverage. Among all RWHAP clients in 2020, 30.8% were covered by Medicaid, 10.6% were covered by Medicare, 10.1% had private employer coverage, and 9.8% had multiple forms of coverage...."
