Last month, a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) was issued to further explain the specifics on the Ready, Set, PrEP HHS program that is offering no-cost access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to uninsured persons. Eighteen questions--and answers--are summarized in Ready, Set, PrEP FAQs, and were culled from the wide-ranging feedback shared in the January 29 HIV.gov webinar on the initiative. Questions cover:

  • Eligibility - Lack of insurance is one of main considerations and there are no income limits or co-pays
  • Enrollment - Talk to your provider to get a PrEP prescription and then go online or call
  • Doctor Visits and Lab Tests - The program doesn't cover these costs
  • Educational & Promotional Resources - Lot's is available

HRSA's 1,400 Health Centers are helping support Ready, Set, PrEP (like helping individuals get enrolled and get PrEP prescriptions) and expansion of HIV testing
