Passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010 expanded access to public and private health insurance, prompting HIV care agencies to refine their fiscal systems to process payments. A good number secured status as HRSA-funded Health Centers.
HIV care is just part of the 60-year history of HRSA Health Centers, a fraction of which was summarized by HRSA in Four Years of Health Center Outcomes: Top 10 Achievements. That recap was released during National Health Center Week (we missed it). Among the HIV highlights:
- Over 4 million HIV tests were conducted, a 62% increase compared to 2020.
- HIV Screening increased by more than 16%.
HIV data from 2020 are summarized in HIV Services Delivered by HRSA Health Centers, 2020.
