HRSA Webinar on Aging, Psychosocial Needs, and the RWHAP

HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau is hosting a second webinar on aging and HIV. Psychosocial and Support Needs for People with HIV who are Aging in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) will be held June 25, 2020, 1:30pm-3:30pm ET. The target audience is RWHAP providers and people with HIV. In 2018, 46.1% of RWHAP clients were aged 50 years and older

The panel will feature an epidemiologist, social gerontologist/medical sociologist, HIV advocate, and an AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) director. Topics will include a review of:

  • Epidemiological data
  • Significance of psychosocial support services
  • Impact of isolationism and HIV stigma
  • Community services for older persons with HIV
