Inaugural EHE Data Report Released

TargetHIV

Dear Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Colleagues:

The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau’s (HAB) is pleased to announce the release of its inaugural Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. Initiative (EHE) Data Report, 2020. The report is now available on the HAB website.

HRSA HAB plays a critical role in the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. (EHE) initiative through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP), which provides a comprehensive system of HIV care, support services, and medication delivery. The RWHAP creates an efficient and effective service delivery mechanism for the EHE initiative.

To monitor progress toward EHE initiative goals, HAB EHE-funded recipients and service providers submit data to HRSA HAB on a regular basis. The newly released publication features national-level aggregate data submitted to the EHE Triannual Module data system by HAB EHE recipients and subrecipients during the 2020 calendar year.

Although the EHE initiative budget year is March through February, the EHE Triannual Module data are reported based on the calendar year (January through December). To align data reporting with the calendar year, two reporting periods were established for the initial data year (2020): March through August (6 months), and September through December (4 months). The report includes all EHE Triannual Module data reported by HAB EHE-funded service providers for March through December 2020.

The Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. Initiative (EHE) Data Report, 2020 highlights the number of new and estimated re-engaged clients receiving specific services and those who were prescribed antiretroviral therapy (ART) during the 2020 calendar year. Data are submitted by HAB EHE-funded service providers for all clients served, regardless of funding source used for services (for example, RWHAP Parts A-D, HAB EHE funding, RWHAP-related funding, etc.).

We’d like to acknowledge the important work HRSA HAB EHE recipients, subrecipients, and stakeholders have been doing in response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency to meet the needs of clients and the incredible efforts made to continue to submit high quality, complete EHE Triannual Module data in a timely manner during this time.

We are excited to share this report with you. The Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. Initiative (EHE) Data Report, 2020 is not copyrighted and may be used and copied without permission; however, citation is appreciated.
