Issue Brief: Strategies for Housing Vulnerable Populations
The impact of high housing costs, and strategies being pursued to address housing needs of vulnerable individuals, are summarized in a new issue brief from a new HRSA research and demonstration project.
The two-page Issue Brief summarizes data on housing costs in relation to hourly wages, followed by four Effective for Housing Vulnerable Populations in Tight Housing Markets.
- Shared housing models
- Landlord engagement and incentives
- Leveraging all available resources
- Addressing unsheltered homelessness
The issue brief was created under The HIV, Housing & Employment Project, part of the HRSA SPNS initiative, Improving HIV Health Outcomes through the Coordination of Supportive Employment and Housing Services, 2017-2020. The Project is exploring ways to coordinate HIV care and treatment, housing, and employment services to improve HIV health outcomes for low-income, uninsured, and underserved people living with HIV.
