States interested in taking part in a national HHS collaborative focused on hepatitis C and Medicaid are invited to take part in the third year of the initiative, which will involve sharing of ideas on innovative ways to improve hepatitis C services.
The 2020 Hepatitis C Medicaid Affinity Group has thus far involved 14 states (and Los Angeles County) to share insights on hepatitis C care under Medicaid. An estimated 2.5 million Americans have hepatitis C and many rely on public insurance programs, particularly Medicaid to correctional care. The Affinity Group's webpages reflect the work carried out in the first two years (year two focused on correctional care) and include presentations, Medicaid hepatitis C resources, and more. Federal agencies collaborating on the effort include HRSA, CDC, SAMHSA, CMS, and HHS's Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy.
To apply, complete the Expression of Interest form by November 1, 2019, 5:00 PM ET and/or learn more in the October 21 webinar, Hepatitis C Medicaid Affinity Group Year 3 Informational Session and the planned focus on hepatitis C and substance use disorder.
