From the Planning CHATT Listserv - Would your planning council/planning body (PC/PB) like to strengthen recruitment and retention of consumer members or other priority populations? Planning CHATT invites you to join a Learning Collaborative to engage with other Planning Councils/Planning Bodies (PC/PBs) across the country working to improve consumer recruitment and retention.
Apply for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part A Planning Councils Recruitment and Retention Learning Collaborative
The Learning Collaborative (LC) will include a series of structured virtual learning sessions that engage PC/PB participants in process improvement with their team, other participating PC/PBs, and subject matter experts. Participating in the LC will support PC/PBs to meet the RWHAP requirement that “not less than 33 percent” of RWHAP Part A planning councils shall be individuals who are receiving HIV-related services [under RWHAP Part A], and “reflect the demographics of the population of individuals with HIV/AIDS” in the service area. During the LC, PC/PBs will develop a recruitment and retention strategy that prioritizes consumers and people of color.
- Application deadline: December 2, 2020 at 5pm EST
- Applicant Acceptance Notification: December 11, 2020
- Learning Collaborative Start Date: February 25, 2020
Who can participate in the Recruitment and Retention LC?
Participation will be limited to 10 PC/PBs, ideally representing a range of geographies and populations served. Each participating PC/PB will be expected to create an Implementation Team to support the development and refinement of their recruitment and retention strategy and activities. We recommend that the Implementation Team be 3 - 5 persons and include:
- At least one person who serves in a planning council leadership role (e.g. PC/PB Co-Chairs, Executive and Membership Committee Team Members)
- At least one unaligned consumer/member
- One representative from the PC/PB Support (PCS) staff
When does the Recruitment and Retention LC begin?
The ten PC/PBs that are selected to participate in the Recruitment and Retention LC will be notified by December 11, 2020. The LC will begin in February 2021, and 90 minute sessions will run monthly through June 2021.
