How States Leverage Medicaid Managed Care to Foster Behavioral Health Integration

In recent years, states have expanded efforts to integrate behavioral and physical health services through Medicaid managed care, aiming to improve outcomes and care coordination across all levels of need. Through multi-pronged integration strategies, including care coordination requirements, quality assurance provisions, and payment approaches, states are increasing access to quality integrated services and supports.
