Pediatric ARV Guidelines Updated
The latest update to the Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in Pediatric HIV Infection has been announced by AIDSInfo. Within the update is a summary of such changes, as the recommendation for rapid initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in antiretroviral-naive children and the potential negative impact of dolutegravir in pregnant women.
The guidelines also present older regimens that are no longer recommended due to, for example, toxicities, and routine mental health and substance abuse screening for adolescents.
