Video Highlights HCV/HIV AETC/SPNS Initiative

Monday, September 17, 2018

The impact of Hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection among people living with HIV (PLWH), and HRSA-funded activities being undertaken to increase HCV treatment, are summarized in a 9+ minute video from the AETC National Coordinating Resource Center (NCRC).

The video HIV/HCV Coinfection: Treat Both, Treat Now (see below) begins with an overview of data on the impact of HCV on people living with HIV (PLWH) and summarizes efforts under a HRSA-funded initiative, such as collaborations among AETCs and state health departments and models at a the clinic level. The HRSA project, Jurisdictional Approach to Curing Hepatitis C among HIV/HCV Coinfected People of Color, is an SPNS/AETC initiative that is developing new HCV/HIV screening, care and treatment approaches. Five Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Part A and B jurisdictions are taking part, in collaboration with the AETC NCRC and five of its regional sites.
