Description

This 301 session describes the clinical differences in the aging process for people with HIV. This session includes a panel of long-term and life-term (people born with HIV) survivors, who provide insight into how to navigate issues, including polypharmacy, social isolation, and long-term care planning.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the clinical differences between how people with HIV (55+) experience comorbid and psychosocial conditions, as well as polypharmacy, social isolation, and long- term planning, compared to people without HIV (55+).
  • Identify how people with HIV navigate their aging process, specifically relating to polypharmacy, social isolation, and long-term care planning.
  • Discuss successes and challenges that long- term and life-term people with HIV experience through their aging process.
