Description

The Community Engagement Institute 201 session features those with lived experience from the early days of the HIV epidemic and will stimulate deeper thinking about what “community engagement” is, what it can mean, and how the lessons from the past can be used to spark innovation for the future, starting with the stories we tell.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn about the early history of the HIV movement from those who lived it.
  • Understand effective strategies used by RWHAP recipients to make systems changes that are responsive to community needs.
  • Learn what can be gained by both sharing
and listening to the stories of those who were diagnosed with HIV decades ago.
