Description

Analysis of RWHAP AETC data to highlight differences between characteristics of rural and non-rural HIV service providers, AETC training events, and client demographics among participating service providers. Better understanding of these comparisons between rural and non-rural HIV service providers and trainings will improve overall care for people with HIV.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand differences between rural and non-rural providers supported by the RWHAP AETC program in clinical vs. non-clinical
work settings (e.g., years of experience, race/ethnicity, gender) and subsequent implications for RWHAP recipients.
  • Describe differences between event training characteristics (e.g., topics and training modalities) attended by rural and non-rural HIV service providers.
  • Discuss differences between estimated client descriptions (e.g., percent of clients with HIV in the past year who are from racial and ethnic minority groups) of rural and non-rural providers who provide services directly to clients with HIV.
