Description

This session will focus on the importance of organizational readiness and cultural competency to address intimate partner violence (IPV) as part of a trauma-informed approach to HIV care. Recipients will receive training on how to strengthen organizational readiness and cultural competency to meet the needs of diverse HIV patient populations.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the important roles of cultural competency and organizational readiness in the provision of HIV care and treatment for those who have a history of and/or current experience with intimate partner violence.
  2. Recognize key components of culturally competent and organizationally ready organizations.
  3. Learn about best practices from RWHAP recipients who have undergone organizational readiness and cultural competency activities in support of IPV-related training and technical assistance.
