Presentation Event
2020 National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care & Treatment
Organization
Minnesota Department of Human Services
Presenter(s)
Jacob Melson, Darin Rowles
Description

Part B, Part A, and the Minnesota Council for HIV/AIDS Care and Prevention collaborated to conduct a needs assessment of people with HIV. We facilitated meetings with various stakeholders to gain consensus on questions to include. It’s important to have strong project management, delegate responsibilities, and plan carefully.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe ways to get meaningful input from people with HIV and planning council members when conducting a joint needs assessment.
  2. Identify what worked well and what can be improved the next time a needs assessment is conducted.
  3. Discuss recommendations other states and Transitional Grant Areas can implement when conducting needs assessments.
