Using three HIV telehealth pilot projects as case studies, telehealth leaders from the Medical University of South Carolina—a HRSA-funded Telehealth Center of Excellence—will discuss how telehealth might be leveraged to improve access to HIV prevention and care. Telehealth technical assistance opportunities available through HRSA will also be highlighted.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe different telehealth modalities (e.g., asynchronous vs. synchronous and provider-provider vs. provider-patient) and how these modalities can be leveraged to improve HIV prevention and care.
  2. Discuss three examples of how telehealth is being piloted to support HIV prevention and care at the Medical University of South Carolina, including discussion of the successes and challenges within these programs.
  3. Identify technical assistance resources available through HRSA and other organizations to support telehealth development, research, and policy.
