CDC has a robust Monkeypox webpage with detailed information about the infectious virus, case data, prevention, treatment, and vaccination.
Notably, people with HIV with a suppressed viral load are not at increased risk. According to one FAQ on the CDC webpage, Bacics: Is monkeypox deadly?: "Over 99% of people who get this form of the disease are likely to survive. However, people with weakened immune systems, children under 8 years of age, people with a history of eczema, and people who are pregnant or breastfeeding may be more likely to get seriously ill or die."
One of the presenters on a July 7 IAS-USA webinar stated that 25% of persons presenting with monkeypox also had a sexually transmitted infection.
