Quality Improvement Interventions to Address HIV Disparities

Wednesday, August 5, 2020

Fifteen quality improvement interventions designed to address HIV care disparities are summarized in Compendium of Interventions to Mitigate HIV Disparities.

The Compendium provides a brief review of each intervention. E-pill reminders, supportive text messaging to young patients, motivational support, and team case management are among the techniques used by agencies, which are funded by HRSA's Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) to deliver HIV care to underserved populations. The Compendium was prepared by the HRSA-funded Center for Quality Improvement and Innovation (CQII), which selected the interventions based on evidence, replicability, and financial support.

Below is one of the intervention summaries. Additional details are provided for each in the form of change ideas and a narrative of how the intervention was selected, what staff were involved, actions taken, and data on changes in viral suppression among the client population.
