Leveraging the Housing Service System Through Planning and Coordination

HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB)

Information for Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) recipients to help them increase understanding and leveraging of the existing housing service system to better serve people with HIV experiencing unstable housing. Topics covered:

  • Impact of unstable housing on people with HIV
  • HUD programs that serve low-income individuals and families
  • Ways in which RWHAP recipients can engage in housing planning processes.

The webinar was presented by HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD), Office of HIV Housing (OHH), the National AIDS Housing Coalition (NAHC) and the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD).

People with HIV (PWH) utilizing RWHAP services with unstable housing consistently have lower viral suppression rates than those with temporary or stable housing.
