Description

Roots of Health Inequity is a collaborative learning course that can be used by HIV care and treatment providers to address systemic disparities in health and wellness. In this presentation, HRSA and the National Association of County and City Health Officials will demonstrate several activities from the course and provide tips on how to implement it in communities.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe root causes of health inequities and their relevance and relationship to public health practice and the HIV continuum of care.
  2. Identify hidden frames (mental models or systems of interpretation) that maintain health inequities.
  3. Explain the underlying assumptions, features, and values for community capacity development and community engagement.
