Consumer Strategies for Building a Successful Consumer Advisory Board

Learn from the experience of Ugandan colleagues how case management techniques could be adopted and adapted at a facility level to improve engagement and retention of hard-to-reach patients in hopes of achieving the ultimate goal of persistent viral suppression.

Learning Objectives

1. Understand challenges and barriers to retention in care and achieving viral suppression in hard-to-reach patients in Uganda and how these relate to challenges experienced in the United States.
2. Learn how case management techniques were adapted in Uganda to address these challenges.
3. Recognize similarities between domestic and international challenges to ending the HIV epidemic and how we can learn from each other in addressing these barriers.
