This session highlights specific HRSA and CDC resources used to reduce HIV-related stigma in rural areas and a recipient's best practices to reduce stigma in the healthcare setting to improve clients' health outcomes and quality of life. Providers, program staff, and people with HIV are encouraged to attend.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify federal resources, including the AIDS Education and Training Center program and Special Projects of National Significance initiatives to reduce stigma in rural areas.
  2. Identify stigma-reducing strategies that may improve clinical outcomes for clients in rural areas.
  3. Identify people with HIV's barriers to accessing care impacted by stigma in rural areas.
