The Clinician Consultation Center receives calls regarding pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in conception, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. The session will focus on the organization’s experience, as well as current data and expert opinion, to discuss best practices for HIV prevention in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Learning Objectives

  1. Cite the current safety data of PrEP in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  2. Identify gaps in current knowledge regarding best practices for HIV prevention during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  3. Recognize the need for standardized protocols that can be used in different health care settings in order to prevent HIV infections.
