Presenter(s)

Description

Immediate access to antiretroviral treatment (ART) is crucial in improving viral suppression and ending the epidemic. Harnessing the power of U=U, we must now address access to medications for treatment-experienced patients as well. A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in New Orleans expanded its rapid start program to include out-of-care ART-experienced clients.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss successes and challenges of immediate ART for out-of-care, treatment-experienced clients.
  2. Recognize the importance of ensuring access to ART as crucial to supporting U=U.
  3. Identify barriers clinic-wide, city-wide, and statewide to implementing same-day appointments and ART access.
