Implementing trauma-informed principles in a meaningful way is a critical component to ending the HIV epidemic. This institute will begin with an overview of the impact of trauma and chronic stress and then move into implementing trauma-informed principles, including the importance of staff and organizational health.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize the impact of trauma on the lives of people with HIV and describe its role along the care continuum.
  2. Identify concrete steps and best practices for implementing trauma informed principles into a variety of systems, including Parts A-D.
  3. Explain the critical component of staff and organizational health in implementing trauma informed principles.
