In this workshop, Liberty Community Services will describe how they integrated employment into their existing services through an innovative jobs club, Pursuing Opportunities with Employment & Resources (POWER). Attendees will leave with the tools to create or expand a jobs club program at their agency.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the concept of and gain insight into the role of all providers in assisting people with HIV in making progress on the employment spectrum.
  2. Increase knowledge about the effect that wages have on disability benefits and how to use a customized benefits calculator.
  3. Learn the key components necessary to develop and implement a jobs club to increase meaningful employment and reduce resistance, barriers and fear that people with HIV have about employment.
