Organization

Presenter(s)

Description

Ryan White is the only federal disease-specific food and nutrition funding source. Despite its demonstrated efficacy, benefits vary widely state to state. As such, much of the innovation is happening at the state level. This panel will look at three different state-based programs focused on food and nutrition for people with HIV.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the impact of the RWHAP Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) category.
  2. Learn about innovative, state-level programs that are demonstrating health care cost savings and better health outcomes for people with HIV receiving medically tailored FNS.
  3. Identify the barriers in the current federal landscape that allow for great variation in access to services such as medically tailored meals for people with HIV.
