This session will share findings from the 2021 National Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) TA Implementation Meeting. The meeting provided increased opportunities for alignment and showcased disruptively innovative components forecasting future needs and highlighting EHE TA/CBA providers.
Positive People social platform developed to expand access to the broader community and improve health outcomes for participants.
Enhancement of communication between Chicago HIV patients and case managers through use of smart phones and its particular value during the COVID-19 pandemic.
RWHAP Part A programs in Florida are housed within county governments, not the state department of health. This prevents direct data sharing, leading to outdated out-of-care (OOC) lists. Migration of residents between counties complicates the management of OOC lists, creating a need for streamlined data exchange and matching.
BPHC and HIV service agencies in the Boston EMA quickly adapted during the pandemic by shifting to telehealth, streamlining and enhancing processes, and expanding services to accommodate changing client needs. These changes have led to valuable lessons learned to reduce barriers to care, sustain adaptability and modernize service delivery.
This presentation will share innovative strategies in the creation of a reflective Consumer Advisory Board, HIT HIV. The presentation will showcase quality improvement projects the HIT HIV CAB completed while leveraging technology, social media, consumer feedback, and CQM principles ensuring a community-driven and equitable process toward ending the HIV epidemic.
The rationale, methodology, and implementation of New York State's Checklist for Evaluating HIV Telehealth Care as used by HIV providers to assess the quality of their telehealth services.
The results of training of peer educators to interview expert HIV providers in order to enhance student HIV knowledge and HIV testing in student health centers (and increased Vodcast viewing). Interview skills building was done by student health centers in collaboration with community partners including the Northeast/Caribbean AETC.
The TargetHIV website is the central hub for RWHAP technical assistance (TA), with an audience of 40,000 unique users a year. Of these, approximately 25 percent access resources from data-related TA providers. This poster will describe how we collect and interpret website data to monitor and improve our dissemination approaches.
Oral health problems in people with HIV are common and access to oral health care remains inadequate. Co-location of RWHAP and dental clinic improves accessibility. Our study aims to assess the effectiveness of integration of medical and dental services in improving access to oral health care through co-location.
Utilization of a peer support specialist to increase routine bacterial sexually transmitted infection screening, testing, and treatment in an urban clinic and related patient care outcomes.
The role of nurses in identifying and addressing social determinants of health in order to enhance viral suppression among people with HIV.
The Virginia Ryan White Part B (RWB) Peer Review Team works in collaboration with 24 subcontractors receiving RWB funding to evaluate qualitative and quantitative service data. Peer Reviewers are experts and provide services for RWHAP in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Overview of barriers and facilitators to Pap test utilization for women with HIV who receive RWHAP Part D services. Using the Socio-Ecological Model, the individual, interpersonal, community, and healthcare system level barriers and facilitators are explored.
Over the past two years, the HIV workforce was challenged to not only maintain services but to rapidly address COVID-19. This case example of the AETC response, demonstrates Northeast/Caribbean AETC’s efforts to rapidly bring needed expertise and resources directly to community providers serving highly impacted communities.
This poster will provide information about approaches of the Black Women First Initiative in adressing HIV epidemic through the COVID-19 pandemic. Various strategies were developed and adapted by the 12 RWHAP SPNS demonstration sites by changing their existing systems for a more culturally responsive care for Black women with HIV.
The COVID-19 pandemic propelled digital tools to the forefront of healthcare. New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute Digital Health Initiative (DHI) coordinated digital health trainings to enhance practices among HIV program staff and may result in improved patient-provider communication, patient access to services and potentially health outcomes.
Increasing provider awareness of Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in order to improve utilization by people at risk for HIV.
