This workshop will describe how the Los Angeles Area AETC developed an inter-professional practice (IPP) program with the Charles Drew NP program, USC’s School of Pharmacy, UCLA’s School of Medicine, and the West LA’s psychiatric residency program -- along with five Ryan White clinics -- to help develop the next generation of HIV teams.

Maricopa County’s Part A Program used HRSA Policy 18-02, which defines allowable services for incarcerated individuals, to expand services in county jails. This session provides a clinical and administrative perspective on the processes, forms, and services that decreased time from jail-based diagnosis to treatment and viral load suppression.

In December 2019 the Iowa ADAP launched its Jail Assistance Program to extend HIV medication access to county jails. The ADAP partnered with a local jail to create a program that could be replicated across all of Iowa’s 99 counties. This presentation will focus on program development, utilization, and lessons learned.

The AIDS Institute will present its analysis of RWHAP funding for the Ending the HIV Epidemic states and jurisdictions in the context of resource allocation to meet the initiative goals and ensure the success of ending the epidemic. This session will educate recipients on the protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act, so as to better inform and advise clients with HIV (as well as Opioid Use Disorder) on their rights to be free from HIV discrimination, in furtherance of the national goal of eradicating stigma and discrimination.

Through the Southern Initiative, CAI supported four Part A agencies in the South in integrating a Community Health Worker (CHW) model to address disparities in HIV outcomes. The session will describe the development of systems to collect, report, and use real-time data to track implementation progress and client outcomes. Results reveal promising client outcomes.

Given rising HIV diagnoses within the Latinx community, this presentation provides a holistic primer on patient-centered care for Latinx folks, de-emphasizing the ‘one size fits all' approach by considering the diversity and cultural nuances within the community. This workshop will present findings from three recently completed HRSA/HAB-sponsored studies that evaluated the impact of the RWHAP, specifically regarding its cost-effectiveness, models of clinical care, and factors associated with viral suppression.

Panelists will describe collaborative prevention and support services provided to people with HIV and/or hepatitis from incarceration to re-entry. Services addressing social determinants of health are provided in corrections facilities and upon release. Panelists include the program director, staff from a correctional medical facility, and community-based organizations working inside and outside of correction facilities.

HRSA/HAB guidance on using RWHAP funds to provide services to eligible individuals in prisons, jails, and other correctional systems allows recipients to determine which RWHAP services to provide and for how long. This session will provide overviews of HAB policy and two recipients' programs serving people who are justice-involved.

This session highlights specific HRSA and CDC resources used to reduce HIV-related stigma in rural areas and a recipient's best practices to reduce stigma in the healthcare setting to improve clients' health outcomes and quality of life. Providers, program staff, and people with HIV are encouraged to attend.
