Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program uses an innovative care model, designed from the margins, to meet the complex needs of people living at the intersections of HIV, homelessness, substance use disorder, and incarceration. Such models hold promise for closing HIV care and prevention equity gaps for this hyper-vulnerable group.

It will explore culturally responsive leadership, transformational leadership, and cultural humility. Facilitators will demonstrate formal and informal leadership skills. People with HIV are encouraged to attend.

Substance abuse, interpersonal violence, depression, and HIV are part of overlapping and intersecting epidemics which adversely affect the prognosis and intensify the burden of each. This session will review existing literature on this syndemic, lessons learned in initial implementation of a screening and linkage program, and implications for practice.

This session will use stories to describe a small 'village,' a model to assist in, prevent relapse of, and remove barriers to care for patients with opioid use disorders. The use of buprenorphine and a patient-centered interactive phone application have added an additional layer of success in patient recovery.

Using an innovative Stakeholder Real-Time Delphi approach, 805 stakeholders (e.g., people with HIV, HIV service organization staff, HIV planning council representatives) from across the United States interactively assessed the prevalence rate and individual-level negative impacts of five substance abuse disorders (SUDs), which were combined to estimate the population-level negative impact of each SUD.

Clinical coordinators serve an essential, unduplicated role in the provision of medication-assisted therapy (MAT) in HIV primary care. This presentation will share lessons learned to support the replication of MAT programs, including the clinical coordinator role, within your setting.

This webinar shared an HIV planning body assessment tool developed and implemented by HealthHIV as part of the IHAP TAC. Inclusive and efficient HIV prevention and care planning is essential to ensuring HIV services are responsive to new public health crises, social change, and ‘Ending the HIV Epidemic’ initiatives. The extremely dynamic healthcare environment has introduced new challenges for HIV prevention and care planning, making efficient structures more important than ever.
