HIV Clinical Pharmacist Services
The HIV Clinical Pharmacist Services intervention shortens the time between referral to and engagement in care by allowing newly referred clients to see pharmacists in addition to other clinical providers for their initial appointment. This intervention is supported by findings from a retrospective cohort study that took place from 2013 to 2017 at a RWHAP-funded clinic. In addition to significantly decreasing the time between referral and initial visit, clients who saw a pharmacist also experienced shortened time to antiretroviral therapy initiation and viral suppression compared to those who only saw non-pharmacist providers.Resource from the RWHAP Best Practices Compilation updated on 11/01/2023

Postpartum Retention and Engagement Quality Improvement Initiative
The University of Mississippi Medical Center implemented a Postpartum Retention and Engagement Quality Improvement Initiative in 2017 to improve linkage to care, retention in care, and viral suppression among postpartum women with HIV. This intervention uses a combination of care coordination, printed materials, case management services, and improved collaboration and coordination between the Adult Special Care Clinic, which provides comprehensive HIV medical care, and a Perinatal HIV Program. Maintaining housing stability among PWH in the NY EMA during COVID-19
The COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) exacerbated homelessness and housing instability. NY EMA Planning staff worked collaboratively to address homelessness as a driving force of poorer health outcomes for people living with HIV. This presentation will illustrate community planning processes for addressing housing-related barriers among RWHAP consumers during the PHE.

Impact of a Bilingual COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign in People Living with HIV
After language-specific outreach on getting a COVID-19 vaccination, project saw a high rate of vaccine uptake in Spanish-speaking patients (81%) compared to English-speaking patients (4%).

COVID 19 Burnout: Using Continuous Quality Improvement to support staff and improve job satisfaction
Community Health Awareness Group worked remotely for nearly a year due to COVID-19 and observed staff anxiety as it transitioned to in-person work. A quality project was undertaken using CQI methods to identify and reduce staff burnout. The project proved that the practice of self-care techniques decreased staff stress.

Developing, Implementing, and Sustaining Quality Improvement Efforts Within a Network: The Baltimore EMA
The Baltimore City Health Department Ryan White Program utilizes a variety of methods to engage stakeholders including program monitoring, technical assistance, and learning opportunities among staff, sub-recipients, and consumers across the Baltimore EMA. The program also leads a cross-network QI team to implement interventions, strengthening its QI efforts.

Oral Health Data in CAREWare: Process optimization – the Baltimore EMA Experience
Oral health of RWHAP participants remains a critical area of unassessed unmet need. Normative data needs and SWOT analyses indicated need for process improvement strategies involving providers for better data quality. Voluntary oral health data reporting is a key barrier to understanding/tracking the oral health status of RWHAP participants.
