In 2019, the Louisiana AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) partnered with a leading private dental insurer to design a group dental plan modeled after an employer-sponsored plan, specifically tailored to the needs of people with HIV. Both utilization and client satisfaction rose significantly following the adoption of the plan.

The HCV Consultation Line (HEPline) has received multiple cases involving Hepatitis C (HCV) treatment interruptions with prescribers asking for guidance on best approaches. This presentation reviews representative HCV cases where treatment interruptions provide lessons in improving systems of care to prevent treatment lapses and optimize the chance of HCV cure.

This session will discuss the implementation, outcomes, and future directions associated with the Health Services Center, Inc. Behavioral Health Co-location (BHC) Project. HSC is the sole provider of free HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) services to a population facing multiple barriers to care (e.g., poverty, education and stigma) in a largely rural 14-county area of northeast Alabama.

Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program will share its innovative approach toward the micro-elimination of Hepatitis C (HCV) for homeless-experienced people with HIV. Team members will share data around cure rates, reinfection, and engaging with marginalized patients, and discuss leveraging existing Ryan White infrastructure and resources for such efforts.

Panelists will describe collaborative prevention and support services provided to people with HIV and/or hepatitis from incarceration to re-entry. Services addressing social determinants of health are provided in corrections facilities and upon release. In a multi-site community health center system, the most challenging patients with HIV and hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection were assessed for HICV cure, and the solutions developed to overcome their barriers to treatment were translated into systems change. The presenters will discuss the challenges, solutions, and resultant system changes.

Research shows that African American students live with HIV more commonly than their primarily Caucasian counterparts. Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) educate millions of learners, positioning these entities to enact greater strategies to counter HIV acquisition and spread. This workshop describes an innovative partnership to address such factors at HBCUs.

Three sites in the Special Projects of National Significance Black Men Who Have Sex with Men (BMSM) Initiative have developed and implemented innovative technology innovations to engage BMSM in care. These include apps, telemedicine, social media, and texting services that meet clients where they are and provide access to services. This presentation will describe product selection and early implementation experiences.
