In 2019, Louisiana prioritized upgrading their home-grown case management database – and identified Florida’s system as a potential replacement. Housing First is an effective, cost-efficient, evidence-based best practice that demonstrates improved health outcomes and care utilization for people experiencing homelessness, including people with HIV (PWH). Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. (EHE) initiative is a unique opportunity for HRSA-funded Jurisdictions to support the uptake and implementation of the Housing First model in their communities to prevent new HIV diagnoses and engage people with HIV who are outside the current system of care.
