The presentation will cover the efficacy of +Love, a five-pronged intervention in New Orleans, involving a dedicated case manager, therapist, peer support, ride service, and text-based alert program that tracks clients' basic needs, mood, and provides medication reminders, in improving the healthcare and treatment satisfaction of young, black men who have sex with men (MSM) with HIV.

This workshop will explore two sites' (Brooklyn and Detroit) experience with the implementation of an evidence-informed intervention for black men who have sex with men (MSM) with HIV. The project seeks to improve HIV outcomes through the use of a culturally tailored intervention for Black MSM, the Text Messaging Intervention to Improve Antiretroviral Adherence among youth with HIV (TXTXT).

This session showcases the activities undertaken by the Ryan White Wellness Center in Charleston, South Carolina, that helped eliminate viral suppression disparities among its young men of color who have sex with men.

Participants will explore different forms and manifestations of stigma, the impact of stigma on health outcomes, and the tenets of intersectionality. In 2019, the Louisiana AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) partnered with a leading private dental insurer to design a group dental plan modeled after an employer-sponsored plan, specifically tailored to the needs of people with HIV. Both utilization and client satisfaction rose significantly following the adoption of the plan.

A culturally sensitive, participant-driven, Spanish-language group for Latina women with HIV promoted engagement in HIV services. Many participants had never previously engaged in support services. The increased participation resulted in multiple positive outcomes, including HIV viral load suppression, reduced stigma and isolation, engagement in mental health services, and increased community advocacy.

The Implementation of Evidence-Informed Behavioral Health Models to Improve HIV Health Outcomes for the BMSM Initiative seeks to engage, link, and retain black men who have sex with men in HIV medical care, behavioral health care, and supportive services. This session will describe the use of the Culturally Responsive Evaluation (CRE) framework to evaluate the initiative.

With integrative, patient-centered care, the organization’s interdisciplinary team approach to caring for patients with HIV has achieved a retention rate of 95% and the viral load suppression of patients with HIV to 95%.

These include apps, telemedicine, social media, and texting services that meet clients where they are and provide access to services. This presentation will describe product selection and early implementation experiences.
