Innovative Approach to MAI: A Data-Driven Model to Improve Health Outcomes among Massachusetts ADAP Participants

Discovering the Truth on Mental Health and Pregnancy for Women Living with HIV Using Educational Videos
UCLA Family AIDS Network, a Ryan White Part D recipient, will present its new Women and HIV bilingual education video series covering the topics of mental health and pregnancy. Developing the Next Generation of HIV Teams through Inter-Professional Practice at Ryan White Clinics
This workshop will describe how the Los Angeles Area AETC developed an inter-professional practice (IPP) program with the Charles Drew NP program, USC’s School of Pharmacy, UCLA’s School of Medicine, and the West LA’s psychiatric residency program -- along with five Ryan White clinics -- to help develop the next generation of HIV teams.

Lessons Learned From Linking ADAP Data with HIV Surveillance Data to Improve Health Outcomes in Massachusetts
HIV care measures for people with HIV enrolled in the Massachusetts AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) were compared to people with HIV not currently enrolled; results indicate that enrollees have higher frequencies of engagement and retention in care and viral suppression. Evaluation of the data provides insight that enhances programming and service delivery to reduce health disparities.

Caring for Women With HIV and Their Babies in the 4th Trimester
In 2015, only 72% of pregnant women with HIV followed at the Grady Ponce de Leon Center returned for postpartum care within a three-month period of time. This workshop will describe actions taken to increase the number of women who kept their postpartum (fourth trimester) and ID appointments.

Anal Dysplasia Program, From Dream to Reality: Lessons Learned
Anal dysplasia programs are a growing need as anal dysplasia is an increasing concern in men and women with HIV. This presentation will discuss establishing, implementing, and maintaining an anal dysplasia program in a Ryan White clinic setting. Ideas for future evaluation will also be addressed.

Quality Improvement Strategies to Engage and Retain Postpartum Women with HIV
University of Mississippi Medical Center utilized known barriers to care for postpartum women with HIV and leveraged that information to schedule individualized interactions with pregnant and postpartum women with HIV. This low-cost, low-effort initiative resulted in statistically significant improvements in both retention in care and viral suppression rates in postpartum women with HIV.

Disseminated Evidence-Informed Initiative for Linkage of Women of Color to HIV Care: Virologic Outcome
This sub-study compared viral suppression between SPNS participants and non-participants at the Meharry site. The SPNS study enrolled women of color newly who were recently diagnosed with HIV or lost to care. There was no statistically significant difference in viral suppression after controlling for demographic and clinical factors.

In this interactive workshop, participants will learn real-world strategies to effectively apply quality improvement methodologies to mitigate HIV disparities. Workshop attendees will be introduced to the end+disparities ECHO Collaborative, the largest virtual community of practice of its kind. This session will explain how Texas collects gender identity data for people with HIV and will examine disparities in care and health outcomes for transgender Texans living with HIV with an additional focus on the Latinx and black communities in order to understand how to better meet the needs of transgender people with HIV.
