Providing HIV Services to People Who Are Incarcerated
The Maricopa Jail Project was implemented by five jails to decrease the wait time between incarceration and/or diagnosis to the start of treatment, and to better support clients to reach viral suppression. Maricopa hired a nurse practitioner to manage access and case manage across the jail system. Test and Treat
The Test and Treat initiative, implemented by Oklahoma State University, connects people to antiretroviral therapy (ART) within 14 days of HIV diagnosis through streamlined intake and initial clinic visit protocols and 30-day medication starter packs. Peer Engagement to Improve Linkage to Care and Improve Retention for Youth, Women, Infants and Children
University Health System’s peer engagement initiative employs peers, alongside Patient Navigators, to provide support and improve linkage and retention to care for youth, women, infants, and children. Group support activities and a chat-enabled website are two of the methods used to continually engage our population of focus.

Utilizing Program Income and Community Partnerships to Address Challenges of Poverty in the Deep South
This session will outline establishment of community partnerships and implementation of housing, nutrition, and substance use treatment programs. Co-Located HIV and SUD Care on a Mobile Unit for Homeless People with HIV and SUD
A community health center uses a mobile health unit to provide integrated substance use disorder (SUD) and HIV care and treatment for those suffering from housing instability. This low-barrier, mobile, integrated care model, supported by intensive case management and outreach, has made a significant impact on engagement, antiretroviral treatment (ART) initiation, and viral suppression.
