The session will discuss lessons learned from the Rhode Island's path to the AIDS Drugs Assistance Program (ADAP) automation through the implementation of the Lifia Portal. University of Mississippi Medical Center utilized known barriers to care for postpartum women with HIV and leveraged that information to schedule individualized interactions with pregnant and postpartum women with HIV. This low-cost, low-effort initiative resulted in statistically significant improvements in both retention in care and viral suppression rates in postpartum women with HIV.

This session showcases the activities undertaken by the Ryan White Wellness Center in Charleston, South Carolina, that helped eliminate viral suppression disparities among its young men of color who have sex with men.

This sub-study compared viral suppression between SPNS participants and non-participants at the Meharry site. The SPNS study enrolled women of color newly who were recently diagnosed with HIV or lost to care. There was no statistically significant difference in viral suppression after controlling for demographic and clinical factors.

This session will give information on the RWHAP SPNS Social Media Initiative (SMI), which used social media and digital technology to improve HIV outcomes for young people. It will provide cross-site outcomes from 10 demonstration sites. Three sites will discuss demonstration models. Resources for replicating the intervention models will be presented.

Research shows that African American students live with HIV more commonly than their primarily Caucasian counterparts. Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) educate millions of learners, positioning these entities to enact greater strategies to counter HIV acquisition and spread. This workshop describes an innovative partnership to address such factors at HBCUs.

Three sites in the Special Projects of National Significance Black Men Who Have Sex with Men (BMSM) Initiative have developed and implemented innovative technology innovations to engage BMSM in care. These include apps, telemedicine, social media, and texting services that meet clients where they are and provide access to services. This presentation will describe product selection and early implementation experiences.

The Women Informational Network (WIN) micro-grant initiative supports grassroots, women-led, community-based organizations and leaders conducting innovative approaches that reduce isolation and stigma for women of color with HIV, with a special emphasis placed on women with HIV living in rural areas and ‘resource deserts’ not connected to care.
