The Women Informational Network (WIN) micro-grant initiative supports grassroots, women-led, community-based organizations and leaders conducting innovative approaches that reduce isolation and stigma for women of color with HIV, with a special emphasis placed on women with HIV living in rural areas and ‘resource deserts’ not connected to care.

This workshop presents results from three recent health care provider survey rounds and reviews the literature showing the negative impact of intersecting stigmas on quality of care. Participants will explore the universal presence of implicit bias and learn how managing such bias can improve patient engagement in continuous care.

Test-and-treat protocols are feasible within high-volume HIV clinics which serve rural and underserved communities to minimize the time to the first appointment to decrease time to viral load suppression.
