Using a Multidisciplinary Approach to Improve Retention in HIV Care
MacGregor Infectious Diseases, a hospital-based clinic affiliated with the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, implemented a multidisciplinary approach to strengthen outreach to clients and improve care retention. Research shows that African American students live with HIV more commonly than their primarily Caucasian counterparts. Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) educate millions of learners, positioning these entities to enact greater strategies to counter HIV acquisition and spread. Using Innovative Technology Strategies to Engage BMSM with HIV in Care
Three sites in the Special Projects of National Significance Black Men Who Have Sex with Men (BMSM) Initiative have developed and implemented innovative technology innovations to engage BMSM in care. These include apps, telemedicine, social media, and texting services that meet clients where they are and provide access to services.
