HCV Linkage, Screening, and Treatment among Co-infected Clients: Enhancing CAREWare and Electronic Health Records
As HIV elimination activities increase, jurisdictions can address HIV/Hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection by enhancing HCV screening and treatment data collection. Establishing an Emergency Department Opt-Out HIV Screening Program: Preliminary Results and Response to Lessons Learned
Establishing an opt-out HIV screening program in the emergency department has almost quadrupled HIV screening rates and has identified new and out-of-care cases. Collaborations among AETCs, Emergency Departments, and Health Jurisdictions to Identify and Treat HIV, HCV, and Syphilis
This interactive workshop will review updated data and discuss implementation challenges, facilitators, and best practices for routine screening/linkage in an emergency department with urban and rural challenges. Preliminary data from the initial two months (with more than 2,000 patients screened) include .7% HIV (including three acute infections), 7% Hepatitis C (HCV) and 5.2% syphilis.

A Trauma-Informed Approach to Integrating HIV Primary Care and Behavioral Health Services
To better integrate primary care with behavioral health services, providers were trained on trauma-informed care and contracts and standards of care were modified to require that medical providers conduct mental health screenings.
