Overview of the HRSA technical assistance project, Sustainable Strategies for RWHAP Community Organizations, which supports AIDS Service Organizations (ASOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in making changes in health care delivery and financing. 

Learning Objectives

  • Outline the goals, products and services available through PCDC's Sustainable Strategies initiative

  • Examine preliminary results of the Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA), HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB), needs assessment conducted of RWHAP AIDS Services Organizations (ASOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs)

  • Discuss the case of an ASO (Action Wellness Philadelphia) and their journey in partnering with a Federally Qualified Center (FQHC)   

Presenters 

  • Denise Anderson, Project Director, Sustainable Strategies for RWHAP Community Organizations, Primary Care Development Corporation presented an overview of the project and preliminary results from their needs assessment survey.

  • Kevin J. Burns, Executive Director and Beth Hagan, Deputy Executive Director from Action Wellness. They described how they enhanced the organization's business model from a stand-alone AIDS Services Organization (ASO), to partnering with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
