Oral health problems in people with HIV are common and access to oral health care remains inadequate. Co-location of RWHAP and dental clinic improves accessibility. Our study aims to assess the effectiveness of integration of medical and dental services in improving access to oral health care through co-location.

Columbia University College of Dental Medicine has partnered with community partners to implement a dental care delivery system for PLWHA in NYC. A week-long Service Learning Rotation was integrated into the third-year dental student curriculum; data analysis from this pilot year will be used for program quality improvement and modification.

Oral health providers rely on continuing education to improve HIV care and services. This session describes how the Arizona AETC partnered with the Los Angeles Area AETC and the UCLA School of Dentistry to assess and respond to special training and technical assistance needs of HIV providers during COVID-19.

Oral health of RWHAP participants remains a critical area of unassessed unmet need. Normative data needs and SWOT analyses indicated need for process improvement strategies involving providers for better data quality. Voluntary oral health data reporting is a key barrier to understanding/tracking the oral health status of RWHAP participants.
