A case study of one Part B subrecipient improved linkage and retention rates through the innovative use of medical transportation, housing services, and food bank and home-delivered meals. The presentation will share lessons learned and propose strategies to replicate these services elsewhere.

Maricopa County’s Part A Program used HRSA Policy 18-02, which defines allowable services for incarcerated individuals, to expand services in county jails. This session provides a clinical and administrative perspective on the processes, forms, and services that decreased time from jail-based diagnosis to treatment and viral load suppression.

In December 2019 the Iowa ADAP launched its Jail Assistance Program to extend HIV medication access to county jails. The ADAP partnered with a local jail to create a program that could be replicated across all of Iowa’s 99 counties. This presentation will focus on program development, utilization, and lessons learned.

This interactive workshop will review updated data and discuss implementation challenges, facilitators, and best practices for routine screening/linkage in an emergency department with urban and rural challenges. Preliminary data from the initial two months (with more than 2,000 patients screened) include .7% HIV (including three acute infections), 7% Hepatitis C (HCV) and 5.2% syphilis.

Panelists will describe collaborative prevention and support services provided to people with HIV and/or hepatitis from incarceration to re-entry. Services addressing social determinants of health are provided in corrections facilities and upon release. Panelists include the program director, staff from a correctional medical facility, and community-based organizations working inside and outside of correction facilities.

HRSA/HAB guidance on using RWHAP funds to provide services to eligible individuals in prisons, jails, and other correctional systems allows recipients to determine which RWHAP services to provide and for how long. This session is an overview of a Part F dental program's two-year journey to increase access to oral healthcare for people with HIV. The number of clients served, which was stagnant for several years, increased by 126% over the two-year initiative through increased collaboration and integration, dental case management, and innovative ways to increase capacity.

Massachusetts' statewide HIV Dental Services program is a unique collaboration across Ryan White Parts A and B to ensure all eligible residents with HIV in need of oral health services receive them. Data show that access to the program is associated with improved care continuum outcomes.
