This presentation will review the many roles a clinical pharmacist can play in improving patient care, such as providing medication education, conducting adherence counseling sessions, facilitating transitions in care, providing comprehensive medication chart reviews, and aiding with the formation of complex treatment regimens. Pharmacists' involvement in pre-exposure prophylaxis will also be reviewed.

Participants will explore different forms and manifestations of stigma, the impact of stigma on health outcomes, and the tenets of intersectionality. Motivational interviewing techniques are applied in the program evaluation context, using examples from Ryan White programs. Using motivational interviewing, the evaluator leads the dance in the desired direction while incorporating stakeholder input.

Caracole, an AIDS Service Organization, uses three interconnected approaches to improve retention in HIV care: housing first, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing. Clients in permanent supportive housing had high rates of viral suppression, exceeding Caracole's goal of 75%.

A culturally sensitive, participant-driven, Spanish-language group for Latina women with HIV promoted engagement in HIV services. Many participants had never previously engaged in support services. The increased participation resulted in multiple positive outcomes, including HIV viral load suppression, reduced stigma and isolation, engagement in mental health services, and increased community advocacy.
